Ingredients
  • 1 tsp. Cumin Seeds (Jeera) 
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp. Ginger Paste
  • 1 Green Chilli, fine chopped  
  • 1 tsp. Garlic Paste
  • 2 Tomatoes, fine chopped 
  • ½ tsp. Red Chilli powder
  • ½ tsp. Garam Masala Powder
  • 1 cup Boiled Fresh Green Peas
  • 1½ cups Potatoes, boiled, peeled and cut into cubes
  • 1 tbs. Oil/Ghee 
  • Salt to taste
Preparations
  • Heat the pan on a medium heat. When hot, add oil/ghee, cumin seeds and dry roast until light brown.
  • Reduce heat between low to medium. 
  • Add the onions and cook until light brown while stirring continuously. 
  • Stir in the ginger paste, chopped green chillies and garlic paste, and sauté until cooked.
  • Add tomatoes and give it a good mix. Cover the pan with a lid and reduce the heat to low and simmer till the tomatoes are cooked.
  • Add the dry masalas and mix well.
  • Add peas and potatoes and stir.
  • Stir in the water slowly and season with salt. Simmer with lid on till the gravy thickens.
  • Serve hot, garnished with coriander and lemon.
Cooking Tip

Stirring should be done properly over a low flame.
